supporting health and wellbeing in children and families throughout the uk

About Us

We are a young charity, just founded in 2010. Our vision is to provide social, emotional and physical support to all families within the UK.

We support the work of organisations that have proven experience and knowledge working in this sector to provide vital community services for families. Often our help is needed to provide additional funds in order to continue a service or develop it in some way which will further benefit families.

Occasionally we are able to provide help for individual families based on circumstances or need. However we support families, either through our communities or in individual cases, our focus is always on long term improvements for health and wellbeing of the family.

What we do

When we raise funds for a project, we make sure it fits within our key principles of The Infant Feeding Trust:

How we do it

All of our income to support these causes comes from the work we do. We currently have one charity shop and have plans to open more during 2011. We also run events which you can get involved in, or run your own! However we continue to raise these much needed funds, we can’t continue our work without your help. Please get involved today!

How we are organised

We have a Board of Trustees who meet at least nine times a year to discuss and review key areas of the charity’s activities including finance, fundraising activity, development, strategy and fundraising projects. This is a vital role in the governance of the charity as our trustees evaluate the delivery of our objectives and monitor and uphold the charity’s key values and principles. They also support the staff and volunteers in achieving the charity’s vision.

There are currently 3 members of the Board of Trustees who volunteer their time and expertise to oversee the general running of the organisation. Each trustee provides experience and expertise from different areas and backgrounds.

A team of 3 members of staff currently oversee day to day activities within the organisation including fundraising activities and the running of The IFT charity shops.

Progress so far

In our first few months of existence we have already raised £1,500 for our first cause, a 24 hour helpline for families. In the New Year, this will see the installation of vital equipment needed to run this helpline.
